I just got back from my first real out of town road-trip in over 5 years! Whew. About 2000 miles in less than 5 days. Lots of walking (but not in the woods) and just under 30 hours (total) in the drivers seat. Met many new friends. Once I returned I jumped on the ST for some air ... and needing a re-entry to my life of normalcy. I felt pretty tired and went to bed by 6:00. I have a Tuesday meet with men that I was really looking forward to the next morning at 8:00 AM. When I awoke I quickly realized I wouldn't make the get together. I spent the next 24 hours in bed ... obviously exhausted. I have never felt more "drained" in my life. I tell folks all the time ... "I might be dumb but I'm not stupid." Truth be told ... long road trips have always been "easy" for me. Breaking news just in ... I suppose I must be ... getting older!
Good news just in. I'm finally feeling "back to normal" ... if normal is a real thing!!! Thank you Lord for bringing me home safely ... albeit tired! Because I'm admittedly "dumb" .... but not "stupid" ... I am learning that "speed of recovery" wanes with advancing age. My prayer is that wisdom grows so that I can effectively "slow down!" Amen.
