Rosettes, Corner Scrolls, and Bridge Inlays

This is a very limited gallery of designs we have performed in the very recent past. We can produce a, nearly, "unlimited" range of possibilities for our clients. We work closely to insure customer satisfaction. Pricing depends on labor and material costs.

Some Rosette Options

The Signature JRS Double Rosette is standard on Concertmasters and Grande Concertmasters. Typically, unless the customer prefers otherwise, we either stain the inner rosette to match the soundboard, or choose a complementary wood. This rosette is a Maple outer rosette with a Purpleheart inner rosette to complement the dark purple stain of the soundboard. This rosette is 3.5" in diameter.

When we developed the JRS Compass model and it's siblings, it seemed fitting to design rosettes to correspond to them. The Compass rosette blends our JRS Standard Outer Rosette with a Compass Star with the cardinal directions marked. The engraving, which may be customized, reads, "Song of the Wood" and "Asheville, North Carolina" in this example. Typically the bottom text will name the Dulcimer model "Jerry Read Smith Compass".

This rosette is 3.5" in diameter.

The JRS Navigator rosette blends our JRS Standard Outer Rosette with a Compass Star from the JRS Compass, but overlays the inner cirle with the globe. The engraving, which may be customized, reads, "Song of the Wood" and "Jerry Read Smith Navigator", the Dulcimer model.

This rosette is 3.5" in diameter.

The JRS Explorer rosette was inspired by Jerry's high-school mascot, a clipper ship. It blends our JRS Standard Outer Rosette with a Clipper Ship sailing the high seas. The engraving, which may be customized, reads, "Song of the Wood" and "Jerry Read Smith Explorer", the Dulcimer model.

This rosette is 3.5" in diameter.

One of our alternative rosette options, the Celtic Knot is a simple, yet elegant, design. It is not infrequently paired with the JRS Standard Corner Scrolls.

Corner Scroll Options

This is a Standard JRS Corner Scroll in the lower right corner. The simple elegance of the style is the same in all four corners. A good choice if you prefer simplicity or understatement in your Dulcimer's appearance.
